Having glimpsed part of the trail before, in a separate, human-powered event, Mark wanted to know what he had been missing along this epic sub-Arctic trail, between Alaska and Canada. This is the story of his solo sled-hauling journey along the Quest trail.

Fear & Loathing on the Iditarod Trail

Following on from his success on the 1000-mile Quest trail, Mark turned his attention to the Iditarod Trail Invitational, another 1000-miler and one of the toughest, coldest and most dangerous human-powered races in the world. Facing extreme cold, fatigue and injuries, Mark became one of the few ever to finish on foot, and the only person in the world to have completed both Yukon Quest and Iditarod trails on foot.
